5 Seconds of Summer were forced to perform at Capital FM's 2014 Jingle Bell Ball without Michael Clifford -- because he lost his passport and couldn't go to the U.K. Womp!

The band made the announcement via Twitter, writing:

To make things just a tiny bit better (and also just a tiny bit sadder), Michael also recorded an apology video that shows him wheeling his suitcase away:

Despite Mikey's notable absence, the band took a page from One Direction's book and knew the show must go on, even if they were down a member. 5SOS played an action-packed set of 'Don't Stop' (which you can check out in the video above), 'Good Girls,' 'Amnesia' and 'She Looks So Perfect.' And while he may have not been there, Michael was totally keeping up-to-date on his band's perf, congratulating Luke, Calum and Ashton all the way from the across the pond:

While we love how the guys still rocked it under the circumstances, all we can say is we hope that Michael either finds his passport or gets a new one soon! THE BAND IS NOT COMPLETE.
