Angelina Jolie Style Breakdown – What’s Right, What’s Wrong, and How to Fix It

Angelina Jolie was the talk of last week after she boldly announced that thanks to a faulty gene that gave her an almost certain chance of being stricken with breast cancer, she’d voluntarily had a double-mastectomy to decrease her chances of developing the disease.

Jolie, one of the most gorgeous woman on the planet, has wowed us for years with her antics — be they outrageous (her blood oath vials with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton), kind (she’s serious do-gooder and Goodwill ambassador) or sexy (her leg at the 2012 Oscars).

Seeing her in the news so much lately inspired us to look at her personal style, which is usually full of “wow” moments.

Take, for example, her midnight blue Romona Keveza dress, which was all sorts of Grecian goddess.

Even when she went shapeless in satin-y layers and dark, drab colors, she still stunned.

What’s Right:

Leather! It may have been her partner and baby daddy Brad Pitt’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’ movie premiere, but all eyes were on Jolie in her black leather Michael Kors mini, which was strapless with pockets. Gorg.

More black and shiny material. Jolie’s reformed bad girl shows herself a little when she wears this kind of fabric. This loose-fitting Jenny Packham gown was one of her best looks ever.

It dipped low in the back, adding sex appeal. Peek-a-boo, tiger tattoo. We see you.

That leg. It was the talk of the 2012 Oscars, when she flashed it while presenting an award (and any other chance she got). She was actually wearing black Atelier Versace, but her leg stole the show.

This va-va-va-voom gown combined all of her signatures. Black? Check. Michael Kors? Check. A thigh-high slit and a leggy pose? Check. The only slight divergence was the fact that she traded leather for lace. Still, she was just as sizzling.

Angie was chic and grown up in a crisp white top and leather skirt.

What’s Wrong:

We don’t often take issue with Angie due to her beauty and edge — but this dress was blah. Sometimes she lets material hang on her and the effect mirrors a shapeless sack.

Here’s another example of a too-loose frock. It hides her shape.

How to Fix It:

We love her in a column gown and looking like a queen, as she did in this red and cream Versace. Oh, look, there’s a slit …

This pewter gown shows off her long legs. It’s nice to see her break from basic black, too, even if it is a terrific signature for her. This dress is different and all grown up without being boring.
