West Texas and many parts of the Southwest continue to be gripped in a drought of biblical proportions, so there may be only solution along those same lines.

Odessa Mayor David Turner is asking the community to seek a Devine solution by praying for rain. City leaders and pastors have set April 14th as the day to pray for rain. The Odessa City Council is expected to do the same with a proclamation Tuesday, April 9. Odessa and other West Texas cities have been hit particularly hard by dry weather, which has drained lakes and rivers and forced some communities to resort to extreme measures such as water rationing. Some experts are saying that if we continue on the present course of no rainfall, our surface waters will be dry by 2014.
