Beyonce Being Sued by Fans Due to Concert Injuries
You know what they say: if you’re going to go after someone, go after the Queen Bee.
CBS Chicago (via The Chicago Sun-Times) reports that two fans who attended Beyonce‘s concert in Chicago last December are suing the singer for injuries sustained at the show’s venue, the United Center.
According to the lawsuit, Raquel Castellanos and Gabriella Davidson arrived early to the United Center with hopes of beating the crowds on the standing floor to be towards the front. But when the gates were open and people were let in, the two were trampled by a mob of rushing fans, leaving the two unconscious and with broken bones. Both Castellanos and Davidson had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries and did not stay for the show.
In addition to Beyonce, the United Center and Live Nation Entertainment are also named in the suit.
Castellanos and Davidson are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages related to the injuries in which they cite negligence since “The United Center, Live Nation and Beyonce did nothing to prevent or discourage the teeming crowd from rushing, pushing and running towards The United Center once the gate was opened,” according to the lawsuit.
Representatives for all parties being sued did not provide any comments to the story.
