Congrats! Two years after their 2012 engagement, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally tied the knot!

According to the Associated Press, a spokesperson said the couple were married in Chateau Miraval, France on Saturday (Aug. 23). A rep also confirmed the news to PEOPLE, who report that Brad and Angelina's children, Maddox, 13; Pax, 11; Zahara, 9; Shiloh, 8; and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne were present for the nuptials.

Although details about the wedding are limited, the AP says it took place in a small chapel and was attended by family and friends. The couple also obtained a wedding license from a judge in California.

Back in 2011, Brad opened up to Ellen Degeneres about why the couple was waiting to tie the knot until gay marriage was legalized.

"We live in this great country that is about freedom," the actor told Ellen (quote via the Hollywood Reporter.) "It is defined by our freedom and equality and yet we allow this discrimination to go on everyday and that’s not what we’re about. That’s not what makes us great. Until that is reversed.  I just don’t get it."
