'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,' and the new approach to the 'PotA' films is decidedly different than the tact taken in the 1970's. There, each sequel was given a smaller and smaller budget and with fewer name talents. Not so with 'Dawn,' as it just added Gary Oldman to the cast.

So what happened to the 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' gang after Flint Lockwood's invention completely smothered his home island in giant-sized food? Where did they go? What happened with all that food? These questions will finally be answered with 'Cloudy 2,' dubbed 'Revenge of the Leftovers.'
Only a day after Seth MacFarlane said, in no uncertain terms, that he would not be returning to the Oscars after his much-criticized stint as host, we're slapped with the news that the ideal choice to replace him, Tina Fey, won't be taking the stage either.
When we last left Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus,' the film had grossed a weak $126 million domestically but a slightly more promising $400 million worldwide. Those numbers didn't suggest that a sequel was going to be coming any time soon, while writer Damon Lindelof announced he wouldn't be involved with the follow up, which suggested that a sequel was never going to happen. But there's hope for a sequel yet as star Noomi Rapace has reported that the script is being worked on right now.
Oh, good -- the guy who wrote two of the worst movies last year is "polishing" the script for Josh Trank's 'Fantastic Four' reboot. Seth Grahame-Smith must have impressed someone at Fox because they've just hired him to work his, uh, magic (?) on 'Fantastic Four.'
One of the summer movies we're most excited for is 'Fast and Furious 6,' which will have Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teaming up to fight crime. What more could you want? Perhaps the return of Michelle Rodriguez, who was supposedly killed during the course of 'Fast and Furious.' Rodiguez is back, but as this featurette shows, she can't really talk about it.
There's been no shortage of controversy following the 2013 Oscars, most of it dealing with host Seth MacFarlane's particular brand of comedy, which is either hilariously crude or mean-spirited and misogynistic, depending on who you ask. But with ratings higher than last year's ceremony (40.3 million people tuned in to watch 'Argo' win Best Picture), you'd wonder if the Academy would decide that further outcry was worth it and ask the 'Family Guy' creator back for a second time. However, MacFarlane himself preemptively answered that question on Twitter.
'Argo' was named Best Picture at the 2013 Oscars this Sunday.
