Now that the 2012 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special "The Snowmen" has come and gone, with it introducing Jenna-Louise Coleman's mysterious new companion Clara, the focus has shifted back to the future of the series. 'Doctor Who' series 7 will return with all-new episodes in 2013, culminating in the top-secret 50th anniversary franchise special, sure to feature plenty of past guest stars, potentially even former Doctors! So which fan-favorite 'Doctor Who' star has gone on record saying she won't be a part of the special? And do we believe her?

For as much interest as 'Doctor Who' fans have in seeing past companions and Doctors alike when the 50th anniversary special hits in 2013, one famous companion may have dashed our hopes. In a recent appearance on 'The Graham Norton show' former 'Doctor Who' star Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) claimed she had no involvement with the special.

"No. I've not been asked," says Piper. "I think Matt Smith said something in passing or in jest like 'That would be nice,' and it became something, but no." Piper refers to a past instance in which current Time Lord Matt Smith expressed a desire to see Piper return to the series, the pair having previously worked together in 'Secret Diary of A Call Girl.'

Having acted as companion to both the Ninth (Christopher Eccleston) and Tenth (David Tennant) Doctors, Piper's character Rose Tyler made her last appearance in the 2010 episode "The End of Time." The specials have yet to film, so it remains to be seen how accurate Piper's denial will be.

What say you? Would you be sad if the 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary special didn't include Rose Tyler? Who would you like to see return? Watch the latest 'Doctor Who' trailer below, and tell us what you think in the comments!
