Halloween is Here!

We all love Haunted Houses and things that make us spook out. But, Haunted Houses are not the only 'cool' thing to do in the area. Here's a guide to what's happening so that you will be prepared for your Halloween activities.

Let's start with where you can take your kids to go trick or treating without having to worry about knocking on the wrong door.

There's the Music City Mall in Odessa which is hosting the MCM Malloween on Halloween! It starts on October 31 at 6:00PM and runs until the candy runs out. Parents, you can enjoy the safety of the mall while letting your kids have fun trick or treating at each of the stores. Along with candy, there will be free coloring books and crayons being given out at the ice rink. As you know, some of the costumes are just priceless so you can get your child's photo taken in the Dillard's courtyard to remind them of either how cute they were back then or just show them to potential dates to embarrass them years from now. There's no charge to get into the mall so this is very kid friendly option for families! The mall is located at 4101 E. 42nd Street in Odessa which is at the corner of JBS Parkway.

Another family friendly option is Fiddlesticks Farms in Midland. While it's not on Halloween, the Saturday of, KPEJ Fox 24 is said to be holding a costume contest at Fiddlesticks Farms and then there will be candy given out in the corn maze. Fiddlesticks Farms has become a local landmark and if you're new to town, you should definitely drop by. They are located at 5610 E County Road 120 in Midland.

While it's definitely not for young children, there is a place you can go to if you want get your adrenaline pumping and your heart racing. It's Def Con 1 Haunted Warehouse and Circus of the Dead Murder Maze in Odessa. It's been scaring the life out of West Texans for years and 2013 is sure to be no different. It's located at 2215 W. 2nd Street in Odessa and will cost $10 for both attractions or $8 for each attraction. From just about everyone we've talked to, this will be about as close as you will/or want to get to being in a horror movie. We'd advise leaving the young kids at home for this one, but high schoolers will definitely get a thrill out of going to this.
