It doesn't take a lot of expensive equipment to make your own dash-camera system. Here is how you can get started shooting your own videos.

A few months ago, I jerry-rigged my go Pro camera to an old cell phone mount, set it up in my car and started making my own dash cam videos. That later led to the creation of 'Braking Bad', a video series about bad drivers/bad parkers in the West Texas area.

Like a lot of people, I felt frustrated watching people drive recklessly with impunity. I wasn't the first person that thought of making a dash cam series, I just had a platform to promote it. Now, a lot of people send me their dash cam videos and I reward the best of those with dinner for two. At this point I want to give a big shout out to our friends at NewsWest 9, specifically Alexa Williams who helps us promote safer driving in West Texas.

Watch the video to see how you can start recording your own dash–cam videos, on the cheap.
