We Want to Give James Franco a Bear Hug – The Daily Swoon

James Franco isn’t just an actor — he’s a multi-talented guy with a vision, and we can’t stop staring in his direction.

I was reminded today of how hot Franco is when I saw the trailer for ‘Spring Breakers.’ (Go watch it. I’ll wait.) Okay, he’s not hot IN the trailer, but he is hot in general, and sometimes I forget. In the upcoming film, he plays a thug/wannabe rapper who helps a quartet of teen girls evading the law after robbing a bank for spring break money. Sounds rad.

Anyway, Franco doesn’t just act — he also writes, directs, and produces. He’s got a couple of films playing in the next week at the Sundance film festival: a documentary about BDSM culture (ooh la la, suck it, ’50 Shades of Grey’), and a film called “Interior. Leather Bar,” which is inspired by the movie ‘Cruising.’ Look it up, I’m not your Google.

We’ve loved him in films like ’127 Hours’ and ‘Pineapple Express,’ and he’s got a seriously busy year ahead, with new movies like ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful,’ ‘This Is the End,’ ‘Lovelace,’ and the aforementioned ‘Spring Breakers.’ ‘Lovelace’ is particularly interesting because it’s about ’70s porn star Linda Lovelace, and Franco plays Playboy founder Hugh Hefner because OF COURSE HE DOES.

Enough about his resume — Franco is super adorable and shaggy, and has that total stoner charm about him, which makes sense because he’s played a few stoners in his time. But his smile is absolutely magnetic, and for that, we salute him.
