'Billboard' and the 'New York Post' are reporting that Katy Perry has been chosen to headline the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

She was recently announced as a finalist for the coveted spot along with Coldplay and Rihanna. Super Bowl 49 goes down February 1st on NBC.

Some folks are speculating that Rihanna may have lost the gig because she was a domestic violence victim who took back her abuser. It's a bad year for that, and CBS already axed her song "Run This Town" from Sunday Night Football because of it.

When Katy was on ESPN's "College Game Day" last Saturday, she admitted there were negotiations and said, quote, "I have let them know that I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."
