Labor Day means many of us will be laboring over a grill this weekend. If you plan on cooking with olive oil, there are some things you should know.

For example, you should not heat olive oil past its 'smoke point', which is where the oil starts to smoke and break down. You should also store your olive oil in a dark, cool place, but do not refrigerate it.

There is also another oil with great health and nutritional benefits. Avocado oil contains vitamin E, potassium, protein and antioxidants. Plus you can cook at higher temperatures, roughly up to 500 degrees.

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend cookouts and practice grilling!
