The whole world was shocked when 'Glee' star Cory Monteith died from a lethal cocktail of heroin and alcohol this weekend, but no one more than his on-and-offscreen love, Lea Michele.

The actress finally had her rep release a statement, and it's understandable why she'd have waited: she's absolutely, and predictably, devastated.

"Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends and fans," Michele's rep told PEOPLE.

"Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."

Cory and Lea dated for over a year; she stood by his side earlier this year when he voluntarily checked himself into rehab. Our thoughts are with her and the Monteith family during this unimaginably difficult time.
