Just a reminder if you are a skywatcher, the Lyrid meteor shower is coming up TONIGHT!

The shower will peak around between the hours of 2am and 5am as the Earth passes through the debris of Comet Thatcher. The Lyrid meteor shower is one of the oldest recorded showers dating back over 2,500 years. Expect a peak of 10-20 meteors an hour.

When they hit our atmosphere, they will be traveling around 110,000 miles per hour. No worries though since most particles are the size of a grain of sand and will burn up almost immediately.

Temperatures in Midland / Odessa will 65℉ this Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, so the weather will be bearable for early-morning viewing.
