Update: 9:23AM

One person has been taken to the hospital following this morning’s crash on FM 1788.

Officials say around 7:16AM, the driver of a Ford Mustang was heading north and stopped to make a left turn just south of the intersection at FM 1788 and Highway 191.

That’s when a northbound dump truck failed to stop in time and rear ended the Mustang, pushing it into oncoming lanes and sideswiped an 18-wheeler.

A southbound flatbed then hit the front of the Mustang and slid through oncoming traffic without hitting any other vehicles.

The driver of the Mustang is said to have non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck was given a ticket for following too close.

Southbound lanes of FM 1788 have been re-opened as of this posting, but northbound lanes are still closed.

DPS troopers also responded to this crash.
