UPDATE: The Odessa Police Department has arrested two individuals involved in the Attempted Capital Murder of Officer Anthony Rossman.

18-year-old Nathaniel Olivas is being charged with Attempted Capital Murder F-1, Burglary of a habitation F-2 and Possession of a controlled Substance Class A.

17-year-old Judith Rivera is being charged with Attempted Capital Murder F-1 and Evading SJF

 

(NewsWest 9) According to OPD, police responded to Rabb CT and New Orleans Drive in response to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle, a maroon Ford Taurus, took off and stopped in the east alley of the 4600 block of Constitution.

The officer chased the suspect, on foot, southbound through the alley. That is when the suspect turned around and fired multiple shots at the officer.

The injured officer has been identified as Anthony Rossman. Rossman was taken to Medical Center Hospital with a gun shot wound to the leg. He was treated and released.

The shooting suspect is still on the run. OPD and multiple other law enforcement agencies are working the case.
