One Direction are no strangers to success, but the boys are making history yet again with their latest single, 'Live While We're Young.'

The five-piece's new tune topped the the U.S. singles chart, selling 341,000 copies in just one week, which makes it the fastest-selling single by a British act in American chart history. The impressive chart numbers also landed the band the highest first-week debut by a British group.

This isn't the first record-breaking moment for 1D. Their debut album, 'Up All Night,' entered the U.S. chart at No. 1, making them the first British artist to claim the top spot with their first album.

According to The Sun, One Direction's new single only hit No. 3 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart. It was bested by Psy's 'Gangnam Style' and Rihanna's 'Diamonds' at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.

The boys are prepping for a busy next month. Not only will fans will get their hands on the group's brand-new album, 'Take Me Home,' on Nov. 13, the guys are also up for two big nominations at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards. One Direction have been nominated for Best New Artist and Biggest Fans. The awards show will air on MTV2 on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11PM EST.
