Pharrell sure did have a busy weekend! In addition to celebrating his 41st birthday in style with SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends from Bikini Bottom, Pharrell also appeared on 'Saturday Night Live' last night as the musical guest alongside guest host Anna Kendrick

Pharrell first performed his monstrous hit 'Happy' from 'Despicable Me 2' with a chorus of adorable dancing kids dancing in the background. Even though 'Despicable Me 2' was released last summer, the single is still going strong and is still currently the number one single on iTunes Digital and radio Top 40 charts.

For his second act, Pharrell performed 'Marilyn Monroe,' the second single off his album 'Girl.' Pharrell was accompanied by conductor Hans Zimmer on stage, who has composed some of film's greatest movie scores including 'Gladiator,' 'The Dark Knight' trilogy and the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series. Mixing his soulful sound with an orchestral background, the song references female figures from history including Cleopatra, Joan of Arc and of course, Marilyn Monroe.

With all that is going on in Pharrell's life, including being named the new coach on 'The Voice,' we can't help but think that his 42nd year is already off to an amazing start!
