RedBox Votes Midland/Odessa In Top 5 ‘Least Romantic’ Survey…Again

I don't usually call for a boycott of any company, however in this case, I'll make an exception. It seems the company RedBox - that rents movies - has released a list of their 'top 10 most romantic cities'. They've also released a list of the 'top 10 most unromantic cities'. Guess which list Odessa/Midland is on?

RedBox releases their list of 'most romantic' and 'least romantic' cities around Valentine's Day every year and topping the 'most romantic' rankings is Marquette, Michigan; based on the total number of romance related rentals there last year. But that's not the problem. The problem is, who ranked in the top five of the top 10 'least romantic cities'. Yes you guessed it, us.

Here are the top five 'least romantic' cities according to RedBox:

1) Laredo, Texas

2) Midland, Texas

3) El Centro, California

4) Victoria, Texas

5) Odessa, Texas

RedBox is basing its results on some of the more popular titles it rents including The Vow, This Means War and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One.

Of course, there two  alternate explanations of why RedBox isn't doing so well renting its titles in Midland/Odessa. The first is Suddenlink. They offer titles before RedBox and you don't have to leave the house to watch them. The Second happened after last year's results that included Midland/Odessa in the 'least romantic' category; we have a long memory.
