Celebs Send Warm Wishes to Robin Roberts as She Returns to ‘Good Morning America’ [VIDEO]
Five months after she left to undergo treatment for MDS, a dangerous bone and blood marrow disease that required her to get a bone marrow transplant, ‘Good Morning America’ anchor Robin Roberts returned to the daytime news show this morning (Feb. 20) — and celebs and other luminaries had a warm welcome for her.
“I have been waiting 174 days to say this: Good morning, America!” Roberts gleefully told the audience.
First Lady Michelle Obama sent her good wishes, saying, “Robin, we just want you to know that the whole Obama family, we’ve been thinking about you and praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way.”
Added President Obama, “It’s great to see you back in that chair.”
Other surprise guests with kind words for Roberts included Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Kobe Bryant.
And of course the Twittersphere lit up with “welcome back” missives.
