Born and raised in Winnemucca, Nevada, Roxi brings you your midday music and news. Before her career in entertainment, Roxi worked for a TV station in their marketing department. We recently sat down with her to learn more about the woman behind the microphone.
Many West Texans listen to you during the day, so what got you interested in being a DJ?
“I was a cheerleader in high school and I loved that so I thought, ‘Heck, I could be a DJ. Play music and dance in the studio all day!’”
If you weren’t in radio, what do you think you would be doing as a career?
Have you ever dreamt of being in Hollywood? If so, what movie would you want to be in and who would you want to co-star with you?
“Any movie that has to do with girl stuff. I love being a girl. I’m a girly girl all around! My co-star would be Jennifer Anniston.”
What is your favorite movie?
“’The Wedding Planner’, ‘The Notebook’ and ‘Wizard of Oz’.”
Do you have a favorite singer or band?
What TV shows would your friends be surprised you watch?
“’Game of Thrones’ and I watch ‘The Walking Dead’ with one eye open!”
When you’re not on the air, what are some of your favorite things to do?
“I love to decorate and get crafty!”
Having enough money to do what we want to do is a goal for everybody, if you won millions of dollars in the lottery, what would you spend it on?
“I would set up a non-profit for women to help them succeed at life!”
Smart phones are EVERYWHERE so what are some of the phone apps you can’t get through the day without checking?
“The Weather App, Facebook app, Mint and Radio Pup!”
On a more personal note, what is your biggest pet peeve?
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Do you have any embarrassing moments?
“I have farted on stage while interviewing a band! (Laughs)”
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
“Check on my four-year-old son. If he is still sleeping, I make my first pot of coffee!”
And last question. Who is the most important person in your life?
“My husband and my son!”
