Last week saw forthcoming 'Star Wars' animated series 'Star Wars Rebels' formally introducing us to David Oyelowo's formidable Agent Kallus, but at least one more villainous voice of the cast had been left blank. Now, the in-between set series has officially confirmed that 'Harry Potter' baddie Jason Isaacs will voice the imposing Jedi-hunter "The Inquisitor," with a brand-new featurette introducing the character!

Identifying off the bat that the Utapau'an Inquisitor shouldn't be considered a Sith, Entertainment Weekly's new 'Star Wars Rebels' featurette nonetheless confirms that the character is not to be trifled with, having familiarized himself with Jedi training techniques in pursuit of Order 66 survivors. An extra layer of menace is added by Lucius Malfoy himself, 'Harry Potter' franchise veteran Jason Isaacs, confirmed to be providing the voice.

Says Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo of the character:

He’s cold, he’s analytical, he doesn’t get angry. We all took care to make sure our villains have real presence and our heroes just can’t walk all over him. This isn’t like cartoons I grew up with in the 80s where you’d have the villain lose every week and yet every week we’d have to believe he’s some sort of threat. When The Inquisitor shows up, it means something significant and it’s a definite challenge for our heroes.

Picking up where the now-canceled ‘Clone Wars‘ left off, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will feature screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg ('X-Men: Days of Future Past'), who wrote the first episode, on the creative side. Elsewhere, here’s everything we know from the official ‘Star Wars Rebels’ logline:

‘Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.

But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.
