As convicted prisoner Piper Chapman in 'Orange Is the New Black,' Taylor Schilling's beige costume is decidedly un-glam. When talking to Allure for the magazine's July 2014 issue, the actress revealed that the simple outfit is actually beneficial.

"It’s totally liberating," Taylor said (quotes via Us Weekly). "There’s freedom in not having to make it about how my jeans fit or what my boobs look like in a top. All I have to do now is play."

That same mantra carries over to the actress' style off-set, where she admits, "I don’t feel bound by my face or my body. I don’t feel like that’s the biggest gift I have to offer the world. I feel like there are more parts of me to offer than that."

After landing the lead role in 'Orange Is the New Black,' Taylor became a household name. The show's diverse cast, she says, is a part of its massive success.

"When we walk down the street, we see a huge variety of women, and that's just not usually reflected in entertainment — and yet this show does that," Taylor explains.
