‘The Voice’ Blind Auditions — Coaches Continue to Fill Their Teams

The Voice
NBC

The second week of blind auditions on ‘The Voice’ — where the coaches flip their chairs around (or not) after listening to contestants sing — kicked off Monday night.

The coaches continued to fill their teams with singers, and they also battle each other to win the, uh, affection of the competitors. Here’s how the first night of blind auditions for week two shook out.

TEAM ADAM LEVINE:

Carina Iglesias: Her huge voice filled the room when delivering her rendition of Melissa Etheridge’s ‘I’m the Only One.’

Warren Stone: The country singer delivered a beautiful version of the deceptively difficult ‘Colder Weather’ by Zac Brown Band and chose Levine, despite all four coaches, including the country specialist Blake Shelton, wanting him!

TEAM BLAKE SHELTON:

The Swon Brothers: The Oklahomans twanged out to ‘American Girl’ and stuck with the Oklahoma-born coach, despite Usher and Shakira turning their chairs and wanting them for their teams.

Holly Tucker: Her sweet version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ had all the coaches vying for her, but since she wants to exemplify country music, she went with Blake. Wise choice.

TEAM SHAKIRA:

Garrett Gardner: He was rejected last season, but he came back better and stronger than ever. His soulful rendition of ‘Seven Nation Army’ got him picked.

Monique Abbadie: The Cuban singer raised the roof with Shakira’s ‘Loca’ and was a no-brainer pick for Shak’s team. They were made for each other.

TEAM USHER:

Taylor Beckham: The redheaded teen offered up a soulful rendition of ‘I’m Going Down’ like she was born to sing it. Usher knows how to turn teens into superstars — cough, Justin Bieber, cough — so the former gymnast picked the R&B crooner.

Michelle Chamuel: The nerdy singer wants to be an electronic pop artist, which she demonstrated with her stomp-the-earth version ‘I Kissed a Girl.’ She went with Usher, just cuz.
