Glenn Beck + Vince Vaughn Join Forces for Unholy Television Alliance

Vince Vaughn was once a funny actor, gaining notoriety for his one-time relationship with Jennifer Aniston and for his role in ‘Wedding Crashers’ (a character he’s reprised in pretty much every movie he’s done since).

But these days he’s backing wingnut Glenn Beck’s television network TheBlaze TV, a move that likely won’t do him any favors in Hollywood. And makes him essentially dead to us around here too.

Vaughn will co-produce a reality competition for the network called ‘Pursuit of Truth,’ which pits documentary filmmakers against one another to secure “financing and distribution” for their projects.

Director Peter Billingsley, whom the world will always know as Ralphie from the holiday classic ‘A Christmas Story,’ is also involved.

Beck used his radio show to announce that he and Vaughn would be working together, saying, “That should make everybody’s head spin. ‘What the hell is Vince Vaughn doing with a crazy man?’ I know, that’s what my friends say. ‘Glenn, what are you doing with the crazy man Vince Vaughn?’ Yes. It’s great, isn’t it? I love it.”

Beck said he’d love to see a resulting documentary that focuses “on why capitalism is actually a good thing, why it’s not a bad thing.”

“I’d also like to a see a film that shows why the middle class should be replaced with dancing show horses and scientific proof for why women are dirty whores who need their vaginas regulated,” he didn’t add.

The nine-episode series will air in the spring of 2013, and Beck and Vaughn are currently reviewing applicants. Liberals need not apply.
