Bill Gates is number one for the 21st year in a row, with a net worth of $81 billion. Following Gates is Warren Buffett, who is number two for the 13th year in a row with $67 billion. Mark Zuckerberg almost cracked the top ten and takes the 11th spot now that his net worth is around $34 billion.

But it's the bottom of the list where things get interesting.  To crack the top 400 you now need to have a net worth of $1.55 billion, just being a billionaire isn't enough.  In fact, there are 113 billionaires in this country who DIDN'T make the top 400.

Some of the new people who made the list are:

Russell Weiner, the founder of Rockstar Energy Drinks, at $2.5 billion.

Travis Kalanick, the cofounder of Uber, at $3 billion.

Jan Koum, the cofounder of WhatsApp; which Facebook bought for $19 billion.  He's worth $7.6 billion.

And Elizabeth Holmes, a 30-year-old who dropped out of Stanford 10 years ago to found a company called Theranos that does cheaper, faster blood tests and she's now worth $4.5 billion.
